New York-based design practice Studio Robert McKinley has unveiled its design for Rosie Cannonball, the third concept from Goodnight Hospitality group in Houston, Texas. The design aims to exude versatility as it elevates the principles of a traditional Italian eatery.
The 2,500-square-foot space is anchored by a wood-burning grill and oven designed exclusively for the restaurant. The bar and open kitchen showcase crimson-colored mini tiles reminiscent of Italian eateries of the 1960s and ’70s. Travertine slabs adorn dining room walls, while white oak banquettes swoop across the interior to convey warmth in tone and texture. Bespoke sconces further reflect a midcentury inspiration as they illuminate the earthy interiors.
