Designer Samuel Amoia and entrepreneur Michael Woltz have unveiled Saint Neri, a sophisticated cocktail bar and lounge in their native city of Buffalo, New York.
Named after the patron saint of joy and good times, the 70-seat lounge draws on the romantic, Art Deco grandeur of Europe, while incorporating elements inspired by Buffalo.
“Saint Neri represents the heart of Buffalo with global influences,” says Amoia. “Guests can feel like they are part of an old-world private club in Europe while eating my grandma’s homemade lasagne and sipping a cocktail named after the haunts of our childhood.”
Candlelit interiors feel luxurious with a subtly playful undertone. Leopard print carpeting runs underfoot, while curtains made from 17th-century Venetian fabrics gilded in 24-carat gold leafing drape the walls. The bar, adorned in a tortoiseshell print, is framed by bar stools that match the carpet’s patterning.
Murano glass fixtures dimly illuminate the room with a moody glow, and black lacquer is used across tabletops and continues into the bathroom, where it’s found on vanity counters.
“Saint Neri truly is a love letter to the city my business partner, Mike, and I grew up in as best friends,” Amoia adds. “It takes everything we love about the city, our memories, and combines it with our passion for beautiful design and world-class hospitality.”
