Pushing beyond typical restaurant conventions, the new Sartoria Lamberti at the Ritz Carlton Moscow comprises the likes of a fashion museum, an onsite working tailor shop, and a new age kitchen. Chef and restauranteur Uilliam Lamberti partnered with Yuna Megre of Megre Interiors to create a gastronomic atelier that captivates all five senses.
Inspired by classic tailor shops, the Italian restaurant’s walls feature dressmaking patterns and notable Hollywood costumes—like Pierce Brosnan’s Brioni Tuxedo from Die Another Day and Ava Gardner’s dress from the Barefoot Contessa—on loan from the National Chamber of Italian Fashion are displayed behind glass.
The dining area is designed to resemble a fitting room, with soft and comfortable velvet seating options throughout. Key details, such as zippers and buttons, remind patrons that they are in a bespoke atelier. Small tables are separated by long curtains to ensure privacy, and a long family-style dinner table is installed in the center of the space.
Lighting is organized so that the restaurant’s atmosphere shifts throughout the day. There is soft, warm glow in the morning and afternoon, and the environment transforms dramatically in the evening—with low light sources over the tables and behind the sofas.
