Conceived by New York-based interior designer Chris Shao, Ensue restaurant has opened atop the Shangri-La Hotel in Shenzhen, China. Helmed by chef Christopher Kostow, the sleek eatery reflects the city’s vibrant identity.
Drawing inspiration from Chinese luxury and California’s Napa Valley, the space evokes the serenity of Californian mountains at twilight blended with Cantonese details. A handpainted landscape mural sets the tone at the restaurant’s entrance, followed by a dramatic chandelier by New York-based Rosie Li Studio. The dining room features a color gray color palette with neutral hues, softened by details such as wall panelings and floral sculptures.
