Canadian tea brand Spiritea has introduced its first New York location in the East Village, accommodating 30 guests across 1,100 square feet. Designed by New York-based design firm New Practice Studio, the interior is characterized by a palette of pastel pinks and blues that aim to accentuate the art in the gallery-like atmosphere.
Artists Kun Wei and Yafang Zhi have adorned the café with their painted Western portraits that reflect upon traditional Chinese landscapes as well as fusing 3D-printed sculptures with traditional Chinese artworks. In addition, the central island of the space was conceived as a stage for baristas to showcase the drink-making process against a soothing backdrop.
