Square Feet Studio Designs New Mellow Mushroom

Square Feet Studio has unveiled its designs for the latest Mellow Mushroom restaurant in Decatur, Georgia. The Atlanta-based firm collaborated with local artists to create a vibrant space with a signature, renegade-inspired style.

Detailed banquettes reference 1970s arcade consoles, while locally made steel bar stools and wall panels layer the venue in bright paint. Reminiscent of stage lights, classic modern pendants descend from the ceiling in clusters partitioning the dining room from the bar. Bare bulbs are linked via an exposed conduit that forms a web-like matrix across the bar’s low ceiling.

The kitchen wall is clad with glossy tiles that face the dining room and span the floors, which render similar tones in marbleized linoleum. The floor pattern complements shades of yellow around the bar, reds lining the banquettes, and blues spanning the dining room.
