Mexican taqueria Gringo’s Taco Arcade has arrived at the new Staten Island Urby waterfront complex on the New York borough’s North Shore. New York-based design firm Gachot Studios crafted a playful atmosphere, which is amplified with a vibrant palette of primary colors that accentuate a Mexican decorative arts aesthetic.
The 4,000-square-foot eatery is appointed with a variety of gaming options, from skee-ball and shuffleboard to video games and foosball for a 1980s-era nostalgia. The 130-seat dining room is also layered with found objects and greenery, while a custom neon art installation serves as the focal point of the bar area. The artwork is by Staten Island artists Dee & Ricky in collaboration with Gachot Studios.
