Chef Rainer Becker will make his West Coast debut with the opening of the Japanese concept Zuma later this month at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Featuring designs from Noriyoshi Muramatsu of Tokyo-based Studio Glitt, the 9,000-square-foot eatery is located on the resort’s third floor, with views of the Las Vegas Strip.
Capturing the elegant style of the Zuma brand, the interior honors the four natural elements—earth, fire, water, and air—through the use of wood, rusted iron, stone, and glass. Contrasting the neon lights and the Las Vegas buildings, Zuma’s focal points include organic materials, such as a feature wall comprised of natural stone sourced in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The reception desk, bar, and sushi counter will each be crafted from grand tree trunks, also sourced in Thailand. The patchwork wall in the lounge has been created from Japanese paper.
Zuma will also include two glass-enclosed private dining rooms, seating up to 14 guests each.
