Juice has arrived in Toronto’s West End as a barbershop-café hybrid spread across 800 square feet. Designed by local architecture practice StudioAC, the new concept embraces a minimalist, industrial palette characterized by black and white elements and corrugated metal.
The raw aesthetic is anchored with elements like a curved, metal, and concrete bar that extends from the café corner in the front to act as the ledge for each barber station. The café space features large white circles on its ceiling to maximize its exposure to natural light and illuminate the interior. Flexible plywood benches can be moved to accommodate various functions within the compact space. Positioned before a floor-length mirror and black and chrome barber chairs, three corrugated metal salon carts are installed in the rear, all of which are easily collapsed into their respective bases
StudioAC also oversaw the development of murals within the space as well as in the adjacent courtyard.
