Popular Mexican restaurant Tacombi has unveiled its latest outpost within a transformed garage space in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. Spread across 2,500 square feet, the newest Tacombi eatery is crafted by NDNY Architecture + Design to reflect the aesthetic of taquerias and food stalls found throughout Mexico, while embracing the industrial heritage of the Brooklyn neighborhood.
Anchored by an open kitchen, the interior comprises a range of found materials and objects set against the brand’s distinctively vibrant backdrop of yellow, mint green, and red hues. The design includes rough tilework with unfinished edges and custom metalwork—in the form of handrails, doors, hardware, and decorative screens—as well as glass block and acrylic sheets that filter in natural light.
