The Marine Room at San Diego’s La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club has reopened following a refresh by Los Angeles-based Studio UNLTD. The intimate seaside space in Southern California is distinguished by a clean and soothing aesthetic that harmonizes with panoramic coastal views.
“We set out to design a space that, during the day held its own, but did not detract from the grandeur of being located right on the Pacific Ocean. Yet it transforms at night to give the feeling of an elegant seaside, dining destination,” says Studio UNLTD founding principal and creative director Greg Bleier. “A rich and texturally luxurious experience that is truly seaworthy despite the fantastic views fading after the sunset.”
The interior design includes floorcoverings featuring rich blue and green circular forms reminiscent of sand dollars that complement the hues of the custom glass mosaic tabletops. Speckled with gold, velvety chenille fabric wraps curvaceous banquettes with a soft shimmer that mirrors the glistening tides. The soffit above the bar echoes the undulating motif, showcasing ribbed white oak cladding, and bright white blonde wood flooring accents seafoam and deep turquoise hues found throughout the Marine Room as well.
