Golden Age Hospitality has unveiled its newest concept, the Nines, along New York’s storied Great Jones Street. Situated above its sister spot Acme, the sumptuous 70-seat space was crafted by locally based interiors firm the Springs Collective to reflect timeless elegance and complement an atmosphere enlivened by live piano covers. Ultimately, the Nines was conceived to entice guests with long-awaited evenings of glamour following nearly two years of restrictions.
“Many of us are yearning for a reason to stash our soft pants—we want to be transported not to a grungy dive bar where we can shake off the professionalism of the office, but rather to a luxurious refuge where nice things still exist and the ugliness of world can be allowed to fade away,” says Amy Butchko of the Springs Collective. “The opening of the Nines marks a shift away from the simplification and Instagrammability of this neighborhood’s dominant interior design, and towards an attention to and care for detail, quality, and approachable opulence.”
Visitors are instantly immersed in rich burgundy hues that conjure a moody ambience. Gilded details, fringed accents, and vintage glass chandeliers further enchant the space, while red corduroy settees, back-painted glass tables, and a honey-toned curvilinear marble bar add depth and texture. The original ceiling is lowered to establish intimacy and adorned with warmly reflective golf leaf paper above antique fixtures and furnishings reupholstered in plush velvet and mohair.
