Spicer Mansion will also debut the Restaurant at Spicer Mansion when it opens at the end of the month in Mystic, Connecticut. Located on Mystic’s bustling waterfront, the invitation-only eatery is helmed by executive chef Jennifer Backman.
Guests will be welcome to enjoy cocktails in the restaurant’s grand salon before entering one of the space’s three dining rooms. Italian hemstitch linens and Baccarat crystal dress the tables, and nautical artwork on loan from the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport and the Cooley Gallery honor the village’s seafaring history in the Victorian-era salon and dining rooms, accessed through Spicer Mansion’s lobby.
Originally built in 1853, Spicer Mansion will reopen at the end of the month as an eight-room boutique hotel designed by Rhode Island-based Ocean House Design Group in collaboration with the owners, the Gates family. Guests of the mansion will also have access to amenities at the nearby Ocean House and Weekapaug Inn.
