Scottsdale, Arizona-based design firm House of Form has unveiled the design of the Rose Garden, a new cocktail bar and lounge in downtown Phoenix.
The concept brings to life a fable written by the design team about villagers who embark on an annual journey to a majestic rose garden, where a resident peacock vies for their attention. “We wanted guests to feel transported into a storybook through visual storytelling,” House of Form owner and principal designer Dala Al-Fuwaires. “Each design element of the space is pulled from a passage in the fable and can be translated into a piece of the story.”
A stately peacock sits perched atop the bar within a cage-like light fixture, where it overlooks the rose garden. The bird’s texture and colors extend into the space in the form of floral artwork and plush velvet seat cushions that evoke a petal-like form.
In contrast to the bar area’s jewel-toned fixtures, large black drum fixtures are installed above custom booths to instill intimacy against a gallery wall lined with vintage floral wallpaper. “The duality of the vintage floral artwork paired with the celebrated peacock at the center of the space allows guests to decide who won the battle,” Al-Fuwaires adds.
