London-based studio B3 Designers has completed the design of modern British eatery the Silver Birch, which recently debuted in the city’s leafy Chiswick neighborhood. Warm, friendly, and down-to-earth, the rustic and refined aesthetic was conceived to complement the menu’s contemporary fare. “Simplicity, clean lines, earthy tones, and elegant finishes define the design palette for the Silver Birch’s interiors,” says B3 Designers founder and creative director Mark Bithrey.
Spread across two floors, the restaurant welcomes diners on the ground level with a bar and dining room, as well as bifold doors at the rear that lead to alfresco seating. A flexible subterranean private dining area is also accessible. A brick wall serves as the backdrop for the gray concrete bar, which is finished with a timber recess for extra legroom. The back wall is clad with hand-glazed tiles framed in elegant gantry suspended from the ceiling. Bespoke banquettes are accented with simple solid cushions and positioned to observe the bread station via a unique glimpse into the kitchen. A chef’s table is also installed beneath custom lighting, overlooking a more comprehensive view of the live kitchen. Soft curtains add a residentially inspired softness to the atmosphere, while custom artwork and a textured mirror equipped with spoons serve as key focal points.
