Located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, the Smith has launched its first American brasserie in the Midwest. The new location features a unique layout that consolidates three separate former storefronts into one space.
New York-based design firm nemaworkshop oversaw the transformation of the interior into an industrial dining room offset by classic brasserie elements. Black and white marble flooring spans the restaurant in geometric patterns, while large booths and smoked antique mirrors also complement the aesthetic. In addition to two private dining rooms and a 58-seat sidewalk patio, an expansive bar topped with zinc accommodates 30 guests as well.
In homage to the Smith’s East Village location in Manhattan, a photo booth is also installed in the downstairs area.
