Multidisciplinary Indian design firm Salient has completed a new bar and lounge inside the Raaj Kutir hotel in Kolkata, India. Aptly named the Swig, the concept reinterprets 19th-century Bengalese aesthetics.
A staircase at the heart of the interior serves as the focal point with Victorian-style cast iron detailing that infuses an opulent, vintage flair. Blue and green tones are amplified via cushioned furniture, while more than 700 handcut crystal goblets and glasses adorn a lofty spot on the wall above the stairs for heightened drama.
