The unique Italian concept Squirrel’s has opened in the midtown district of Savannah, Georgia, crafted by locally based interior designer, and set stylist Elizabeth Demos.
Layering the handsome interior with a narrative expressed through Old World European influences, Demos designed a space that defies conventions of what a traditional pizza dive looks like. Its steel and brick exterior is detailed with ribbon windows, while concrete columns inside soar from refurbished flooring up to the ribbed ceilings.
Lacquered panels adorn the walls to convey a library-meets-speakeasy atmosphere complete with leather bench seating. Lining the walls across from the curved bar are the cozy booths of the eatery. The deep teal color palette of the walls serve as the ideal complement to warmly toned seating, while also bringing the irreverent artwork to the fore.
