In the vibrant restaurant scene of Montreal’s Villeray neighborhood, a new Italian concept stands out as a throwback to 1970s style. The Vesta pizzeria channels the flair of retro New York, courtesy of locally based studio Ménard Dworkind Architecture & Design (MRDK). Named for the Roman goddess of home and family, Vesta evokes a warm familiarity through a stylish lens.
Beneath green ceilings ribbed with wood, white pine walls infuse texture into the clean interior that’s populated by vintage dining seating and red leather banquettes. Hardwood floors and intimate lighting further inject warmth, while potted greenery and canned tomatoes on display pop against the green color palette. A small bar serves as the nucleus of the restaurant, topped with beige-toned steel and oak for an industrial touch. A custom steel wine rack is complemented by slim linear pendants as well.
