Buenos Aires-based design practice Hitzig Militello Arquitectos has unveiled a new culinary project in its hometown. The gastronomic concept, Williamsburg, accommodates guests within a longitudinal 580-square-foot open-air space, and pays special attention to social distancing.
A backlit band of signage—modeled to resemble a movie theater marquee—sinuously wraps the perimeter of Williamsburg’s pergola, standing in for a glazed façade. Situated at bar-height counters, seating is oriented to face the street instead of other diners to support sanitation concerns. Fiberglass bars and circular PVC strips infuse a dose of red across the neutral metallic palette, which is accented by abundant vegetation to improve air quality and reinforce nature.
