Spread across 6,200 square feet, NĂM • Modern Vietnamese Cuisine has debuted as a new concept in Kyiv. The charm of the interior design is conceived by YOD Design Lab to complement the authentic, modernized cuisine.
A French colonial vernacular defines the interior with characteristic ethnic blotches. Authenticity is maximized with abundant use of natural materials aged specifically in correlation with the tropical Vietnamese climate. With the exception of technical lighting and seats, nearly all of the interior elements are crafted exclusively for the restaurant. All wooden products—including the parquet flooring—are sourced from century-old barrels that previously stored wine. The restaurant’s large windows allow the interior atmosphere to evolve and vary through the day based on the infusion of natural light. The eatery’s first floor is oriented around an open kitchen and connected to the second floor via a staircase.
