The former abode of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat has hit the market in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Located at 57 Great Jones Street in the Bowery, the open loft could be yours for $60,000 per month for a minimum of 10 years, according to Robb Report. The 6,600-square-foot space spans three floors and features high ceilings and skylights. Originally purchased by Warhol in 1970, the 19th-century structure once functioned as the Brighton Athletic Club and eventually the hub for a metalworks and kitchen supply company. The commercial property would later serve as home and studio for Basquiat from 1983 until his death in 1988.
Harry’s House album cover inspires sofa reproduction
Pop star Harry Styles has found himself in stiff competition at the 2023 Grammy Awards, where he’ll face off with Adele, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, and Bad Bunny for Album of the Year. His fans also face some fierce contention as they covet a new furniture design inspired by the cover his Grammy-nominated Harry’s House. The sofa featured in the cover art has been recreated by Portland, Oregon-based furniture designers Helen Helfand and Leland Duck. However, a limited run of only 500 units will be put on the market, writes Curbed. Dubbed Your House Couch, the design mirrors its muse with burnt-orange cushions ensconced in a steel frame with a chrome finish. The velvet two-seater also spans a cozy 57 inches in length. Oh, and it’s only $4,995.
