Accor has announced plans to rollout new properties in Australia and New Zealand throughout 2021.
Openings will commence will the addition of a new unit into the company’s Mövenpick portfolio. Upon its debut in January, the 221-room Mövenpick Hotel Hobart will introduce a warm and contemporary ethos into the cosmopolitan waterfront neighborhood in Australia. The 103-room Sebel Melbourne Ringwood will open shortly after in February. The property will comprise 48 studio apartments, 48 one-bedroom suites, and seven two-bedroom suites spread across six floors.
Mid-2021 will herald the arrival of two hotels: the Sofitel Adelaide and the Sebel Wellington Lower Hutt. Part of a 32-story mixed-use tower on Currie Street, the former property will accommodate 250 guestrooms and suites across the building’s first 24 floors. The latter apartment-style hotel, located in New Zealand, will open as part of a new civic center project developed in collaboration with the Hutt City Council. It will be home to 60 fully serviced studios and one-bedroom apartments appointed with warm, stylish furnishings to accentuate a residential-like aesthetic.
Finally, Accor will expand its Mercure portfolio with the launch of the Mercure Auckland Queen Street in New Zealand. Slated to arrive in late 2021, the 96-room property will span eight stories and feature a restaurant and boardroom as well.
In other recent news, Accor has doubled down on the lifestyle hotel category upon an upcoming merger with Ennismore.
