The Crossroads Hotel has debuted within a former Pabst Brewing Company bottling and distribution plant in Kansas City, Missouri. The latest asset in the Aparium Hotel Group portfolio, the new property rises four stories in the heart of the city’s emerging Crossroads Arts District.
Chicago-based Simeone Deary Design Group crafted the industrial space with a design inspired by the warehouse vernacular of the neighborhood. Guests are greeted by a convivial living room, which is anchored with a central bar framed by various seating enclaves and communal gaming areas. The environment is accented with worn leather, rich brown fabric, deep blue flannel, and textural plaid. Weathered and exposed brick and concrete walls are displayed to highlight the original design, while the adjacent 4,000-square-foot atrium pours natural light into the interior via the stunning skylight. To promote the hotel’s connection to the local art scene, the design also features focal points from bespoke ceramic lampshades to wallcoverings crafted by various artists.
One of three onsite F&B options, the 78-seat Italian concept Lazia, will anchor the ground floor later this fall complete with two private dining spaces. In spring 2019, the lively rooftop beer garden Percheron will arrive as well. In addition to the existing all-day concept XR in the lobby, amenities include more than 9,000 square feet of even space—including a 3,000-square-foot ballroom.
Natural textiles and blackened metal fixtures adorn each of the 131 accommodations. Exposed brick walls inject unique character into each room alongside more whimsical elements such as swings and tree-like columns. Hospitality suites even feature personal bars, billiards tables, and meeting rooms.
