New York-based design practice Savvy Studio has introduced the Gowanus Inn and Yard, an Ascend Hotel, to the Brooklyn, New York neighborhood. The property interacts naturally with its industrial neighbors while maintaining a warm and energetic flair.
Designed to evoke both coziness and modernity, the space is appointed with rich colors and opulent furniture, emphasizing the vibrancy of the hotel. Different moods are conveyed by the varying textures and materials found throughout the interior, from concrete walls to sleek oak wall panels and ornate lighting. Dressed in rich tones, the simple and clean 76 guestrooms are inspired by Japanese interior design as well as the industrial style of Gowanus and the idea of space. Custom furniture makes the rooms feel bigger as well.
