The former Mautz Paint Company building in Madison, Wisconsin is now home to the newly debuted Hotel Indigo Madison Downtown. The historic address was transformed by Wisconsin design firm Gary Brink & Associates. A new, five-story addition crafted in collaboration with local firm Potter Lawson also seamlessly joins the Midwest landmark.
Paired with the building’s original brick prairie-style architecture, a striking color palette honors the heritage of the Mautz Paint Company. Custom artwork and unique prints also pay homage to the building’s history.
In addition to 144 retro-inspired guestrooms and suites, the hotel features amenities like the indoor-outdoor Palette Bar & Grill, a 24-hour fitness center, and 1,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Included among the sundrenched meeting venues, one room showcases a historic stairwell detailed with original tilework as well.
