The historic Eitel Building in Seattle has been reborn into the State Hotel. Spread across 43,200 square feet, the seven-story landmark has been received a series of upgrades—including seismic enhancements to façade restoration—courtesy of locally based architecture firm Weinstein A+U.
The hotel lobby features a dramatic archway entrance framed by a minimalist glass marquee that shelters a swath of the sidewalk. The brick exterior and terracotta detailing have also been restored, and new windows have been installed for greater energy efficiency.
All 91 guestrooms, including six large suites overlooking Puget Sound, line the central, double-loaded corridors. A new rooftop pavilion crowns the property, set back and hidden from street view.
