1 Hotels has announced the launch of the 1 West Hollywood, its fourth property and new West Coast flagship. The former Jeremy hotel has received a comprehensive facelift at the hand of AvroKO, which crafted the hotel to reflect the raw natural beauty of Southern California’s iconic vistas.
The sustainable design emphasizes the inclusion of native and adaptive vegetation in addition to an irrigation system and a 100 percent organic and sustainably grown vegetable garden. Energy-efficient LED lighting and air conditioning are also key features of the design, whose raw materiality reflects the environmentally conscious ethos. Executed in collaboration with the interior design team at SH Hotels & Resorts, the design of 1 WeHo comprises reclaimed timber and steel, recycled fiber carpeting, and striking stonework. A reception desk welcoming visitors is even crafted from lumber sourced from naturally fallen trees, while all lobby furniture is also locally made.
Dual penthouse units are slated to debut atop the hotel later this summer, joining the additional 285 guestrooms and suites. The newly renovated plunge pool and lounge deck will frame similar views of the neighborhood and beyond. 1 Kitchen by Chris Crary and the Juniper Tree bar will round out the onsite amenities along with 14,000 square feet of flexible event space.
