Scottsdale-based Five Star Development has received approval to build the Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley in Arizona. The resort will spread across 20 acres, and will include both a hotel and private residences, including 94 single level villas, 45 single family homes, and a 352,000-square-foot hotel. The project will break ground this year, and will be completed in 2018.
All of the related buildings will be branded with services by Ritz-Carlton including a dedicated concierge, priority access to hotel guest accommodations and amenities, and a host of a la carte services such as in-residence dining and housekeeping. Forty percent of the hotel’s 200 rooms are suites, while single level villas range in size from 1,700 to 3,000 square feet, and the single family homes from 3,000 to 6,000 square feet.
The resort will boast the largest pool in North America at just over 400 feet. Other amenities include a 20,000 square foot spa with indoor and outdoor treatment areas, a health and fitness center, indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, a citrus orchard, a garden that will produce harvests for onsite restaurants, lush walking paths, and a grand lawn with views of Camelback Mountain.
“We are thrilled to finally bring the world’s best hotel brand to Paradise Valley and to create a luxury real estate offering that will be among the most sophisticated and sought-after in North America,” said Jerry Ayoub, president of Five Star Development. “This is a new generation of luxury resorts combining a luxury hotel with exceptional, fully serviced homes and high-end shopping, all in one destination.”
The Ritz-Carlton resort is part of a larger, 122-acre site also owned by Five Star Development, which plans to build non Ritz-Carlton-branded residences on the rest of the land, along with an underground parking lot and a retail area.
