21c Museum Hotels has begun renovations at the James Hotel in Chicago. The property is slated to reopen in fall 2019 as the 21c Museum Hotel Chicago. Designed by longtime collaborator New York-based architecture firm Deborah Berke Partners, the hotel will be the brand’s ninth and largest outpost with 297 guestrooms and suites.
The forthcoming hotel will house more than 10,000 square feet of exhibition, meeting, and event space that will showcase rotating curated exhibitions, site-specific installations, and other cultural programming based on collaborations with local and national arts organizations. A chef-driven F&B venue, full-service spa, business center, and fitness center will be featured onsite.
