21c Museum Hotels is set to unveil its maiden outpost in Chicago this February in the city’s River North neighborhood. The ninth property in the brand’s footprint, the 21c Museum Hotel Chicago is crafted by New York-based design firm Deborah Berke Partners in collaboration with locally based GREC Architects.
The urban retreat will evoke serenity with an open layout flooded with abundant natural light. Its double-height lobby is anchored by a signature staircase that leads visitors to the onsite exhibition and event spaces, while spacious guestrooms are wrapped in a soothing color palette inspired by nearby Lake Michigan. The hotel is home to 297 accommodations will be 106 suites, which feature sexy materials like leather and velvet detailing headboards along with a tasteful selection of artwork on the walls. In addition, the property’s signature 21c suites boast an open-plan concept with a sectional sofa, dining space, and a large soaking tub in the bathrooms.
