Marriott International opened the AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon, marking the official debut of AC Hotels by Marriott in North America.
Originally founded in 1998 by Spanish hotelier Antonio Catalan, AC Hotels is a prominent hotel brand in Spain. Following its success in Europe, Marriott International formed a jointed venture that established AC Hotels by Marriott as a lifestyle brand within the company’s global portfolio.
The AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon is located in the city’s historic cotton exchange building, a National Historic Landmark that first opened in 1871 as a centralized forum for the trade of cotton.
Each new AC Hotels location will feature signature amenities and culinary elements including the AC Lounge experience, the AC Library, and the AC Kitchen.
Along with New Orleans, AC Hotels by Marriott currently offers a portfolio of more than 75 hotels throughout Spain, Italy, Portugal, and France. Growth plans for the brand include the opening of its next North American locations in Kansas City, Missouri and in Miami Beach early next year, as well as more than 50 additional hotels set to open within the next three years throughout the U.S. and Latin America.
