AccorHotels has announced the launch of its Jo&Joe brand as a new lodging option for the Millennial-minded and economy markets. Created by UK-based design company Penson, the disruptive Jo&Joe design embodies flexibility and combines aspects of private rentals, hostels, and hotels—qualities emphasized by customer feedback aggregated by the AccorHotels Marketing Innovation Lab. The forthcoming properties will be located in central urban destinations.
Jo&Joe properties will be defined by their open living spaces, inviting for travelers and locals alike. The concept will promote community and interaction by integrating the local neighborhood’s culture into onsite amenities. Uniquely designed bars will feature high visibility from the streets, and collaborative kitchens will encourage guests to demonstrate their own culinary skills. The private Happy House will function as a relaxing space to work, cook, or wash clothes.
Guestroom options include Together, a modular communal sleeping area featuring spacious beds, private lockers, and access to recreation areas and communal bathrooms; Yours will comprise rooms and apartments for up to five guests and include a private bathroom and kitchen space; and the OOO!—Out of the Ordinary—option will accommodate groups of up to six, traveling together or separately, with yurts, hammocks, and caravans.
Joe&Joe is slated to unveil 50 properties by 2020 in major cities like Bordeaux, Budapest, Paris, Rio, São Paulo, and Warsaw.
