General Hotel Management’s (GHM) will manage luxury resort Al Bai Sharjah, which is set to open in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the end of this year. Designed by UK- and UAE-based firm GAJ Architects, the resort will be launched as part of the UAE’s ambitious historical preservation project the Heart of Sharjah that aims to revitalize the district and promote its heritage by 2025.
Al Bai Sharjah will be crafted from the restored foundations of old houses in the region spread across 107,640 square feet. Fifty-three luxury guestrooms and suites span up to 1,100 square feet, offering direct access to the famed Souk Al Arsah—a traditional bazaar and marketplace. Traditional Arabic and Asian design elements like handcrafted thatched roofs and distinctive ceiling motifs will be featured throughout.
The resort will house ample meeting space and dining options, including the all-day venue the Restaurant and the casual Café. The onsite luxury spa will also be the first in GHM’s portfolio to include a hammam.
