International lifestyle company Two Roads Hospitality and Singapore-based Alila Hotels & Resorts kick off their North America initiative together with Ventana Big Sur, perched hillside among redwood trees overlooking Highway 1 in California, which will reopen in the fall. The multimillion-dollar refresh will provide an intimate, immersive experience for guests and feature 59 updated guestrooms, suites, and villas as serene havens tucked away in the surrounding meadows. Many will include private balconies or patios providing direct views of the mountains and Pacific Ocean.
The redesign also includes an abundance of unique public spaces and new guest activities, such as the glamping program. Offering a unique gathering spots for guests to connect, the Social House is equipped with an outdoor patio, a library, music room, game room, and a bar. The Glass House Gallery showcases artwork from artists along the coast, while the Sur House restaurant, helmed by chef Paul Corsentino, is updated with sustainable ingredients and coastal cuisine on the menu. The full-service Spa Alila will deliver luxurious treatments and facilities including an aromatherapy steam shower and two outdoor pools, but it’s the 7,000-square-foot Ocean Meadow Lawn event space that is the real showstopper.
