Set to open in Q4 2025, Alila Mayakoba marks a milestone for Hyatt’s luxury portfolio as the first Alila-branded property in Latin America and the Caribbean.
A complete transformation of the former Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya, the 118-key resort—along with 64 suites, each with a private pool—delivers a new chapter for the Mayakoba complex.

Nestled within 148 acres of protected mangroves and freshwater canals, the property reflects Alila’s signature ethos of place-based luxury. The reimagined arrival experience—conceived as a cenote-inspired welcome space—sets the tone with natural textures, artisanal details, and layered greenery.
The architecture and interior design is rooted in Mayan tradition, featuring locally sourced and reclaimed materials, an onsite organic garden, and design elements that blend harmoniously with the surrounding environment.
Guestrooms and suites have been fully renovated to create residential-style sanctuaries, complete with private plunge pools, spa-like bathrooms, and organic finishes that mirror the resort’s nature-first philosophy.
Throughout the property, a balance of indoor-outdoor living defines the guest experience, from in-land and oceanfront pools to a newly expanded Alila Spa, which introduces a Temazcal, open-air hydrotherapy rituals, and wellness programming inspired by Mayan traditions.
Several new culinary concepts—including a beach club and garden-to-table dining destinations that highlight local ingredients and regional heritage—are set to debut onsite. A soft, natural palette will define the F&B interiors, brought to life through ambient lighting, handcrafted materials, and curated textures.
