Following a comprehensive, eight-month makeover, the 5-Star Aman Le Mélézin will reopen in Courchevel, France this December in time to commemorate its 70th anniversary. Situated a mile above sea level in the heart of Les Trois Vallees, the ski resort’s redesign will offer an upgraded guest experience while also honoring its elegant French chateau spirit.
The revamped property will welcome guests through a reconstructed entrance that leads to the reception area through a long glass corridor enclosed with wood latticework. Aged oak panels and Roseline Granset-designed sculptures will be featured throughout.
The update will also include the refurbishment of 19 guestrooms and suites, now with an alpine-inspired palette infusing the indoors with outdoor elements. Natural materials, new furniture, and beige stone in the bathrooms will add softness, in addition to underfloor heating and Japanese toilets. Three suites—including two Chamber Ski Pistes and a Suite Ski Piste—will be equipped with large terraces and private hot tubs crafted from red cedar wood.
The onsite bar has been relocated to the property’s west side to capture sunset views, while large windows frame the extended south-facing terrace, also maximizing views of the mountain setting. Adjacent to the bar, the Cigar Lounge features a library, leather club chairs, and a fireplace. The overhaul also entails the expansion of the signature restaurant and terrace, and additional amenities include an indoor pool, Jacuzzis, hammam, and a four-treatment room spa.
