Aman Resorts & Hotels has revealed plans to add its fourth location in Japan in 2023. The all-season Aman Niseko will span 460 acres of the slopes of Mount Moiwa in Hokkaido’s Niseko region.
The design from Australian practice Kerry Hill Architects will channel the ryokan aesthetic while framing views of the surrounding forest and Mount Yotei. Elements like open fireplaces, onsen terraces, and private bathtubs will be featured in each accommodation alongside wooden accents infusing warmth. Interiors will be outfitted with a linear layout punctuated with floor-to-ceiling windows and doors to reinforce the natural splendors of the locale. Both single and double treatment suites will be housed at the Aman Spa, where lounges, relaxation pods, extensive thermal areas and indoor lap pool and aqua fitness pool will be amongst the amenities, overlooking an outdoor terrace. Aman Niseko will be home to nearly 30 residences and a two-story kid’s club as well.
