Anantara has made its European debut with the arrival of the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort along Portugal’s Algarve coast. The brand’s signature Thai hospitality permeates through the setting while paired with an indigenous flair.
All 280 guestrooms feature natural woods and fibers sourced regionally, as well as views of picturesque gardens and the Arnold Palmer-designer Oceânico Golf Course. Local artisans were tapped to help furnish the property’s 17 Anantara suites with handmade items from ceramic fruit bowls to coasters. Suites also include exclusive access to the Anantara Spa’s indoor pool and sauna, which overlooks rolling green landscapes. The presidential suite is clad with a terrace that accommodates a private dining area, Jacuzzi, and sundeck.
Six bars and restaurants have opened as well, including the wine-centric EMO, the indoor-outdoor Marisquiera-style concept Ria, all-day eatery Tivoli Victoria, the poolside Palms Pool Bar, and the Anantara Bar and Lounge.
The standalone conference center accommodates up to 800 people across eight versatile and naturally lit meeting rooms. A variety of fully equipped children’s amenities, such as the Adventurers Kids Club, will open next month. A 24-hour fitness center and tennis courts are also featured onsite.
