Hyatt’s Andaz brand is set to open the 342-key Andaz Singapore this month, marking the brand’s debut in the Southeast Asia market. The country has experienced a significant boom in the industry, with 18 new hotels opening in 2017 alone. The property will be located within the DUO twin-tower mixed-use development, which is directly connected to the Bugis MRT transit station.
Andaz Singapore will follow the trend of hotels tapping into local attractions to immerse guests in the culture. Beyond being in proximity to the historic Kampong Glam and Little India districts, as well as the Bras Basah Bugis arts hub, the hotel itself features retail and entertainment facilities in the form of internal mini-streets that evoke the feeling of being right in the city. Above, there are several “dining in the sky” concept eateries, as well as the Mr. Stork rooftop bar that boasts breathtaking panoramic views of Singapore’s skyline.
Andaz has a foothold in the larger Asia market with properties in Shanghai, Delhi, and Tokyo, but Hyatt has had a property in Singapore since 1971, the Grand Hyatt.
