Los Angeles-based studio Avenue Interior Design has completed the redesign of the lobby bar at the Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Set for an August reopening, the reimagined bar draws inspiration from the already existing Art Deco-era details at the space, while revamping it as a polished, speakeasy-style dive spot.
Five solid brass fins installed above the bar are reminiscent of a chord chart staff, while lighting fixtures throughout serve as abstractions of traditional brass musical instruments. Illuminated custom wood and brass detailing allow the space to stand out as the key focal point of the lobby. Cozy lounge seating upholstered in ritzy velvet in deep jewel tones further emphasize the bar’s new glamorous style.
