The former 1886-opened Central Hotel in Los Olivos, California is set to undergo a transformation to become the latest entry into the Auberge Resorts Collection portfolio. The 6.5-acre property will reopen as the Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resorts Collection in 2021 following a refresh by AvroKO in collaboration with Santa Barbara, California-based architecture firm DMHA. The interiors will reinforce the idyllic natural surroundings, with their old-growth palm trees and many nearby vineyards, to promote breezy Central California Coast ranch living.
The property will also be home to 67 luxury guestrooms and cottage-style accommodations crafted with a simple, modern interpretation of farmhouse style that complements the aesthetic of open-air spaces like the signature restaurant. An outdoor pool will be accented with cabanas, firepits, and a bar, while the spa and indoor-outdoor event venue will round out the sophisticated onsite amenities.
