Construction continues on EpiCentre, a 22-story mixed-use tower in uptown Charlotte, with the placement of its final steel beam earlier this month. Designed by locally based firm BB+M Architecture, the tower will house a 184-room AC Hotel, a 116-room Residence Inn, and 2,400 square feet of meeting space. A two-bedroom deluxe suite will crown the property, outfitted with an independent rooftop restaurant and bar. Space for retail and an additional eatery will also be included.
Managed by McKibbon Hospitality, the dual-branded hotel is crafted by Lawrenceville, Georgia-based Lindsay Pope Brayfield Clifford & Associates. Guests can choose between the European-style, boutique quality of the AC property and the extended-stay Residence Inn. The design-driven, classically modern AC Hotel will be the Marriott brand’s first outpost in Charlotte and its second in North Carolina. McKibbon Hospitality is also developing an additional AC hotel in North Carolina, which is slated to arrive in Asheville in early 2017.
