Best Western has announced plans to revolutionize how its guests engage with the brand through a new immersive virtual reality program. The Best Western Virtual Reality Experience (BWVRE) allows visitors to view guestrooms, lobbies, amenities, and other aspects of the properties before arriving.
The project is the culmination of a three-year partnership with Google Street View to aggregate 1.7 million images of Best Western’s 2,200 North American hotels. A video component is being developed in 8K resolution, currently the highest video definition available. BWVRE is part of a newly initiated brand refresh plan, highlighting its successes over the last several decades. The brand has invested $2 billion in upgrades and renovations across its North American properties to provide a contemporary and relevant appearance, along with new logos for the master brand as well as Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier.
The technology will be implemented by each North American Best Western location this summer.
