The Greek island of Zakynthos is set to welcome the Olea All Suite Hotel in Tsilivi. Athens- and Stockholm-based architecture practice Block722architects+ will craft the 43,000-square-foot retreat to evoke an aquatic theme reflective of its oceanfront setting. Natural materials, including rustic oak wood, bamboo, and rattan, will complement pervasive water elements, while an open layout will characterize both suites and communal spaces.
“The most important thing to us was how the guests would experience their surroundings,” says Katja Margaritoglou, cofounder and interior designer for Block722architects+. “The design brings people in sync with nature and its elements, connecting the indoors with the outdoors in a seamless way that helps them unwind and explore the resort in its entirety.”
Amenities will include the onsite spa, home to a fully equipped fitness center, beauty salon, and yoga pavilion. Natural meeting points will be created around the hotel’s lake-like pool, with lounges sheltered by pergolas and Judas trees. The aptly named Sunset Bar will maximize sun exposure at the close of the day.
