The first phase of updates has been completed at the Camellia Hotel in Opatija, Croatia. Located upon the Adriatic coast, the enchanting retreat received its latest upgrades from HBA London, which sought to honor the grace of the setting.
Eighty of the hotel’s guestrooms underwent a transformation into pools of serenity that lead to outdoor terraces. The color palette recalls the pale stones of the locale, enlivened with the russet tones of terracotta reflective of the rooftops typical in the region. Pale timber flooring is featured in homage to Opatija’s shipbuilding heritage, while custom wardrobes and wall panels finished in lattice-painted timber invoke nostalgia. Leather details and brushed brass fittings round interior accents that frame folk artwork and ceramics.
More than 60 of the guestrooms await refurbishment ahead of the 2020 summer season. Public areas are also expected to wrap facelifts by 2021.
