Capella Hotels and Resorts will introduce its first urban resort in Thailand with the launch of the Capella Bangkok in the second quarter of 2019. The forthcoming luxury resort is located upon the east bank of the River of Kings—the first to open along the waterway in nearly two decades.
The Capella Bangkok will aim to reflect the emerging local arts scene within the surrounding Chao Phraya and Charoenkrung neighborhoods across interiors spearheaded by San Francisco-based practice BAMO. HBA will also contribute design expertise to the project, while locally based interiors studio PIA will oversee the design of the onsite spa. A signature restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco will also be featured onsite.
In addition to 101 suites, the resort will also be home to the first riverfront villas within the Chao Phraya Estate—a waterfront development spread across 14 acres. Crafted akin to a personal pied-à-terre, each villa unit will overlook the river from every room.
