Halekulani Corporation has announced that the Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani is set to open on the site of the Waikiki Parc Hotel in fall 2019. Led by New York-based design firm Champalimaud, the property will be reimagined as a dynamic upscale boutique hotel neighboring the iconic Halekulani resort, its sister entity.
The multimillion-dollar refresh will yield 288 guestrooms and suites as well as amenities including an all-day eatery, fitness center, and hospitality lounge. The lobby will welcome visitors with natural and refined elements inspired by Halekulani’s subtle, light, and airy interiors complete with custom light fixtures, teak finishes, vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and artwork sourced in collaboration with the Honolulu Museum of Art. The signature onsite restaurant will be installed adjacent to the lobby, equipped with an open kitchen, separate chocolate kitchen, and an outdoor terrace.
The focal point of the design will be the private eighth-floor sanctuary open exclusively to hotel guests. The fully remodeled, raised wood pool deck will be anchored by an infinity lap pool, Jacuzzi, poolside bar, and luxury cabanas overlooking the sea. The eighth floor will also be home to the hotel fitness center and lounge connected to the open-air lana’i garden.
