The Chapter Roma hotel is set to arrive in the historic Regola neighborhood of Rome as the first location in the Chapter Italia Portfolio conceived by Marco Cillia. Slated for a May debut, the intimate retreat in the Italian capital will fuse grit and glamour as it balances contemporary and classic aesthetics via a design from South African-based designer Tristan Du Plessis of Studio A.
The original structure, which dates back to 1880, will be adorned with Plessis’ signature industrial-chic style with a plush color scheme including dark green and rust tones. A palette of raw steel, brass, copper, and bronze will span an interior, which is outfitted with high ceilings, herringbone floors, and midcentury Italian furniture. Each of the 42 minimalist accommodations will feature statement-making, including custom vanities-cum-storage units, while roman arches composed of raw steel will wrap the lobby bar.
