The Château Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Georgia has announced plans to undergo a $25 million update from Atlanta-based design and architecture practice BLUR Workshop, which includes updating the guestrooms, lobby, spa, pool terrace, and winery, as well as the addition of four new F&B outlets. Slated for completion in November 2019, the facelift will accentuate the charm of the 16th-century property by marrying French and Southern influences.
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding vineyards and rolling hills, the color palette’s modern tones of gray and taupe will accent notes of chartreuse, turquoise, and gold. Rich wood, warm lighting, white Calcutta marble, and local artwork will complement industrial touches ranging from tufted leather to wrought iron. A dramatic, custom glass chandelier will pay homage to the vineyard with a form that mirrors a shifting grapevine. Carpeting will infuse sophistication across corridors in tandem with raw silk wallcoverings illuminated by iron sconces.
The refurbished lobby will greet visitors with a custom carved limestone fireplace and handtufted rugs, and the transformed atrium will amplify luxury with white marble and polished bronze with gold accents. New F&B options will include a coffee and wine concept in the lobby and the expansive Atrium Bar, set to anchor the grand room with a 40-foot-tall Douglas fir sculpture. The Marc Bar will open at the rear of the winery restaurant with a palette of French oak, iron details, and soapstone.
